ALTiNZ: Episode II Day ONE

Ok here we go back to day one with a little romp around CHCH to sight see and obtain a very long awaited package.

One disclaimer: Chris is the most random photographer ever. So if some of these don't make sense they probably weren't intended to but you can ask me for any clarification.

To start off here's a lovely picture of me stuffing my face with a salmon pizza. Nice!

OH! Sorry, I was scared for a second.

Chris, is this really that funny?

My scary neighbors might try to take it away from me.

The opening of the long awaited package. Drum Roll Please!!!

Peeps, um, thanks Frankie?

A great big Reeseter Bunny, Could I be more happy?

The passing of the beloved hard drive that Chris himself mailed only 7 weeks previously.

Chris flipped out when he saw my attempt at NZ style. I had fun with it but Chris was not approving party.

Close up of the self-induced rat tail.

Wow, Chris is excited!

Chris is chasing a seagull, typical.

Whatever, who cares?

A duel of wits

Why am I doing this? Oh! because Chris told me to.

I made a really funny joke making fun of Chris. He's not impressed.

What's the fascination with urinals?

The first time the sun was out since Chris had landed. Why do I looked so pained?

A Little Texas in NZ: Episode 1 The School

For those of you that didn't know, my good friend Chris came to visit me a few weeks ago! It was a blast. I was feeling a bit tired from school and a little homesick. Chris's timing couldn't be better! Here's the insanity that ensued. Disclaimer: I've decided to do Chris's trip in installments and as it's easier on this website to post the last picture first and work my way up. The Circus School segment was actually the last day Chris was in Christchurch. I'll do the rest in order don't worry. Also, I don't want any complaining. (What's even funnier is that Chris isn't even in any of these pictures. hee hee. Hey! I said no complaining!)

This is me at school. Not too shabby, eh?

Oh, the magic I can weave on the web.

I feel like a bat hanging like this.

and now I feel like a bat flying!!!

This is me explaining the children's show that Shelley and I have to do together. It's the continuation of the Frog Prince. The storyboards tell the rest.

Around the hips...

Around the leg..

If you didn't already know, I'm a hula hoop virtuoso. Seriously, look at the poise!

In Case You Were Wondering

I've been here almost 5 months now and have yet to post anything about the very strange national bird of New Zealand. THE KIWI!!! Here's what they look like.

The Kiwis are interesting for several reasons. First of all, they have survived being a flightless bird until recently because New Zealand is a country without snakes or any other ground predators that would eat the Kiwi. Also, Kiwis are the only birds with their nostrils at the end of their very long beak. Lastly Kiwi eggs are about half their size. Could you imagine giving birth to a 60 lbs. child. That's out of control.

One should also note when visiting New Zealand and having just eaten a kiwi fruit should never say, "Yum that was the best kiwi I've ever eaten!" Locals very well might think you just ate their national bird. Be sure you say kiwi FRUIT.

Let's Back Track

Hey Gang, even though it's about a month and a half too late, I finally have pics from my trip to Sydney. Let's get to it.

This first pic is of me in front of the quintessential Sydney icon. The Sydney Opera House whose design was inspired by that of seashells and boat sails.

It's incredible during the day, but even more so at night.

I have to had that the Opera House also has really cool bathrooms. The sink actually drain out the back!

Complete with this very informative sign.

Diana was my fellow partner in crime. This is her in disguise wearing a wig from a stand at one of the markets.

Diana at the Glebe Market.

This was a really incredible market. I found this one artist, named Richard Ellard, who transferred all of his works to t-shirts, postcards, and pins. Of course I bought a shirt or two, but here are some of his great pieces. More of his stuff can be found at www.chmo.com.au

I just really loved the name of this restaurant.

Diana and I thought this tree looked like tendons. She's pinching my tendon!

Here we are on stilts!!!

Um, yeah

Alex, This is all for you

For all you fun-loving Catholics out there!

Fun at Wagamama Sydney!!!

Diana and I took a little trip to the coast up north stopping at Manly Beach and then continuing on to to see the cliffs.

The Ferry Ride looking back at Downtown Sydney.

These are just some randoms taken from the Cliffs and other areas north of Sydney.

Oh! Watch out for that spider!!!!
