Feliz Cumpleanos!

On July 7th, We had a birthday extravaganza at my house for Camilla and my birthdays. Camilla turned 29 on July 4th and I became the ripe old age of 24 on the 5th. Here's how our Spanish themed party went down.

These are the decorations, complete with pinata!

Colette, my flatmate, and I are ready to party. I think I dressed the part, don't you?

Charlie, me, and the finishing touch, my cigar.

The Birthday Girl and Me

Colette and Rachel are bringing out the magnificient cakes they made in honor of our births!

This is the New Zealand Silver Fern Leaf Cake, compliments to Colette.

And Rachel's oh so fun Octopus Cake.

Let the Salsa dancing begin.

Time for the Caipirinhas!! To keep with the theme we decided on this traditional Brazilian drink. To make them first you have to cut up limes.

Then clean the bucket the drinks will be served from!

Pour in the raw sugar and Cachaca, Brazilian sugar cane rum.

Then mix it all up.

Taste to ensure happy guests.

And serve!

Louise, Mullet Man, and Lozz

Hey Ladies!

Time for some Pinata beating!

She swings, HOMERUN!!!

Notice Colette's moustache. She was dressed as her alter ego, Fernando. Too bad there aren't any pics of the transformation. Along with post Fernando appear Camilla, Shelley, Diana, and Kristina.

Happy Birthday (in Spanish of course)

and then blowing out the candles.

with a little mishap, also known as the Ecuadorian tradition of biting the cake. Thanks Colette!

Here's the aftermath.

The third personality shows up. Her name is Nicole!

Charlie and Nicole

Time for the heals to hit the road.

Well, it was a great night. I was told it was the best party of the year. I hope you enjoyed it as well.

At A School Near You

For our second assessment we had to devise a children's show with a partner.

My partner was Shelley.

Our piece was the continuation of The Frog Prince. Basically, the Princess couldn't get used to the Frog Prince's froggy habits. As a result, the Frog Prince ran away in search of someone to turn him back into a frog because he thought he was happier as a frog. After a few trials and tribulations, the Frog Prince realized he had experienced true love with the Princess and he returned her. Their greeting kiss had the power to turn both of them into frogs where they lived happily ever after. We even had a choreographed froggy dance at the end to symbolize our eternal happiness.

At one point Shelley is Snow White's Evil Witch. This is her juggling her poisonous apples.

The two of us in costume.

Camilla lounging about.

For Kristina and Bones' show, Kristina was a scientist named Harriet Jamesonshameson. As all scientests do, Camilla is giving Kristina her electroshock therapy hair.

Here's Kristina in her costume.

And Bones as her trusty robot that she invented.

Lou Lou owned a Circus Shop in her Children's Show.

Toby and Rowan were in a galactic battle of Good against Evil for control of the Earth.

This Rowan about to go onstage.

Diana and Sam. They did a mime clown act with the two of them fighting over a chair.

George is a nerd, literally.

Let It Snow, Let It Snow, Let It Snow

I really wanted it to snow on my birthday but instead I got it in June. A little early birthday present is how I like to think of it. Anyway, it is also my luck that this is the coldest winter on record in New Zealand. Good thing their winters aren't really that cold, but bad thing for me they don't have central heating or insulation. Needless to say it was still really cold even if it wasn't as cold as it gets in Dalhart.

Strange Things Happen at Circus School

A head in the microwave.

Scares Tank

But what does George do?

Kisses it naturally.

And just think, this is some of the strange stuff that was actually documented on film.
