Linda Goes Down Under

So, my dear mother has decided that she will finally take the plunge, get a passport and come see me in NZ. I think Cats was a major incentive, and why not?

She is bringing along her fellow Ladies of the South Park Salon Dee and Natalie. I hope they know that Will is their tour guide and as a result they have the following to look forward to as a part of their Will designed, personalized tour of the bottom of the world.

Of course their vacation will begin with an incredibly long flight that brings them to the thriving metropolis of Christchurch. While here their main attractions will be CATS starring me! Here's a little preview photo of what Camilla, my acrobatic partner, and I do best.

Yes, I am laying on the ground with my legs up in the air with Camilla propped up by them.

After the greatest theatre experience of their lives, we hop on another plane and head straight for Sydney. This could or could not be the Opera House as we see it when we arrive.

I'm hoping for the most picturesque experience possible. Nothing but the best for the girls on Will Guided Tours.

After Sydney we make our way to Cairns to see the world's one and only Great Barrier Reef. Here we'll scuba dive...

and surfing

Now, we'll bid adieu to Oz and make our way back to New Zealand. After picking up a car in Auckland we'll make our way to Rotorua where we'll do the extreme sport invented in New Zealand, ZORBING!!!

Can't you just see Linda in that big hamster ball?

After the North Island we'll go to the south and visit Queenstown where Mom can go...

BUNGY JUMPING!!

I think the 60 year old woman is up for it.

Whew! Let's hope their guide can keep up with these wild women.

Le premier anniversaire de Jolie, notre petite fleur

On this day one year ago, little Jolie was born! Sorry I couldn't be there to help you celebrate Jolie but I love you very much!

New Look

Here's a few looks as to how Mungojerrie could possibly look.

Any thoughts?

A National Tragedy

I know that most of you are probably sick of hearing about it, but I'm in New Zealand and don't have a TV and just can't get enough. I think it's really funny that Britney Spears is going crazy. Makes me feel like she's a little more like us, similar to that section in US Weekly. Celebrities are just like us....They suddenly shave off their hair in moments of indecision. They check into rehab for a day. They beat in people's cars with umbrellas.

Oh remember the days when all she had to do was make a Pepsi commercial to make it on the news.

Quick Update

Ok, so I'm so sorry I've been flaky and haven't been updating this blog to many of your likings, but that's just the way you roll when you've been dealing with Jessica Simpson's for 12 hours a day.

So in Blonde Ambition summation, I finally got to meet Rachel Leigh Cook, my high school guiding light. Fantastically enough, she was the best person in the cast. Very few weird quirks and not demanding in the least. You all should love her just because in one scene she looks like a Power Ranger. God Bless Her!

At one point during the movie, some of the set decoration people wanted to put me in a scene in the background on my tissu. I was exhausted and quickly put together this cruddy video in hopes to start my movie career. They decided not to use me. Oh well, that's showbiz!!!

Here's the video. I had set it up in the warehouse where they were filming. (In case you were wondering about the background.)

But my time in Shreveport has ended, and just about time. I think I was turning into a fried shrimp myself.

I came back to New Zealand on Jan. 12 to start rehearsals for CATS. It's been great and I can't wait to actually see how it comes out.

Here are previews of the costumes that Camilla and I will be wearing. Obviously I'm Mungojerrie and Camilla is Rumpelteazer.

Whew! That was quick and I left out so many details but hopefully now I won't feel overwhelmed about back tracking and will actually keep things up-to-date.

SHE'S ALL THAT AND NOTHING TO ME

So, yesterday I was assigned to purchase and wrap a bottle of wine and then deliver it to our star Rachel Leigh Cook. Now I remember little Rachel changing my life and that of all other high schoolers with her influential role as Laney Boggs in "She's All That" where she taught all of us that our lack of popularity resides only in our glasses, kind of like Superman's desguise is solely his spectacles. I'm not sure what that meant for me since I didn't wear glasses and now that I have some people say I look cuter.

Whatever, back to my story. I was on a mission to make her proud with my pickings and decoratings. I ran all over Shreveport driving Chris's monster of a Durango in the rain to reign victorious all while dodging bums and unnecessarily place medians. I went to Party City, to Super Target, and finally to World Market where I found what I wanted. Unfortunately to attach the card I needed a whole punch. I snuck into Office Max to merely sample the workings of their whole punches. Then I headed to her apartment just to get lost in this city that I have never driven in. Fun right? I call my trusty Assistant Prod. Coordinator and friend, Chris, to direct me and finally end up at the star's apartment a mere two hours later.

Finally, I arrive with my only saving grace being that I am going meet my high school guiding light. I walk up to the door and knock. No one answers. I knock louder. Still no answer. I walk away dejected and call back to the office to tell them I'm coming back and where I'd left the bottle. Through the phone I hear them say the apt of where I was supposed to leave the bottle. It was a different number!!! I interrupt and confirm that the number written down for me was wrong. It is indeed wrong. I hurry back, hoping the bottle hasn't been picked up. I grab it and run to the right place and knock loudly knowing that the encounter has finally come. No answer. All in vain. I drove through the rain in a foreign vehicle looking for the perfect embellishments for THE Rachel Leigh Cook and I don't even get to meet her. Worthless, it's all worthless.

Just A Day In The Life

So today in my crazy life, I met JOE SIMPSON. Dear little Jessica Simpson's dad. We've officially made it a public affair.

Although he refused to shake my hand, I'll blame the preacher's uncouthness on my blue hair.

Also, note to Joe, instead of insisting that Ashlee get a nose job you might want to take care of the tire around your waist.

Cats: Revisited!

I forgot to do a posting letting everyone know that Camilla and I did make it into Cats. We're Mungojerrie and Rumpelteazer, two acrobatic thief cats.

Prepare for the transformation from this...

to this.....

This Is Only The Beginning

Once you have tasted flight, you will forever walk the earth with your eyes turned skyward, for there you have been, and there you will always long to return.

Only one week left of school for the year. I can't believe it!

Street Show Hysteria

I just thought I would let everyone know that I am performing my street show today. Let's hope I actually make some money. Should be fun and I'll be sure to post pics later. (Really, this is just a blatant plea for positive thoughts to come my way because I'm pretty nervous)

Goodbye and be sure to support your local street beggar/performer!

Bad Boy Blue

So as luck would have it, for my street show a blue mohawk is required. Here's a little foray into the ten hour, two day process.

I went to a hair styling academy and because I had such great hair (more because I wanted so much done) they used my head for two assessments.

The first assessment was to lighten and color my hair with some Redken product. The result was a strawberry blonde. I have to say that this is the most I've ever resembled my mother. Too bad the pictures don't really do it justice.

After, the lightening I went to get my hair bleached. It took two VERY LONG cycles to lighten it enough.

The first cycle brought me to a Draco Malfoy look-a-like.

The second....

after the hair blow-dry....

made me into a character from Dragon BallZ (or so all the stylists from the academy said).

Finally, a toner was added and I became a fake blonde that I think on anyone else would have looked natural. Here I am with Chinny, the girl who took me through the very long process. Because I was there ALL day, the didn't charge me a thing, which is always good.

Later that day, I went to a friend's house to dye it all blue. Here are some more pics of the extreme blondeness of it all before the dye job.

Now, time for the blue dye!

For all of you impressionable youth, close your eyes because I need to wash out that dye.

So here's the blue, pre mohawk. What do you think?

Finally, the end product!!

Cats: The Musical

So New Zealand has decided to catch up with 1983 and do their own rendition of the Andrew Lloyd Webber favorite Cats! They had an audition information last night and a few people from school decided to go. Turns out they would like to have a few acrobats and aerialists in the show and look who's going to audition! I haven't auditioned yet but just thought all of you should know. Though I wouldn't be a main cat, I have ambitions to be Mr. Mistoffelees with his conjuring turn of 25 pirouettes on one foot. I think I've got what it takes.

Here's the Rum Tum Tugger and Magical Mr. Mistofelees. I see the similarities don't you?

NZ vs. TX

So, I think I've finally been here long enough to start talking about the differences between New Zealand and Texas in detail. While some differences are more important than others, I believe the issue of the Fanny Pack to be the funniest.

Turns out that in Kiwi slang a fanny is not a rump shaker like in the States. It is, in fact, what we would find on the front of a female! The imagery that comes to mind with that kind of "fanny" pack is too much.

The Kiwi translation of a fanny pack is a Bum Bag.

So pack your bum bags and let's go!!!
